Derrick Rose’s Injury Status Has Been Announced By The Memphis Grizzlies

Memphis Grizzlies guard Derrick Rose departed Friday night’s game against the Houston Rockets due to left hamstring pain, according to the franchise. Rose has, of course, battled injuries throughout his career, including this season with Memphis, so every time he is forced to leave a game early is cause for concern.

As of now, this is all Memphis has said about Rose’s injury, but more information may become available once the veteran point guard has been evaluated further by the team’s medical staff.

The Grizzlies are already incredibly shorthanded, with Ja Morant of course sidelined due to his suspension, and several other rotation players being out with different injuries. While Rose is of course not the player he was in his prime, he is still a very serviceable rotation guard for Memphis, and has been relied on even more than they anticipated when first signing him.

With so many injuries to the Grizzlies roster, Rose has been called upon to play some key minutes when he has been healthy, so it will be very unfortunate for him and the team if he is forced to miss any extended time with this hamstring issue.

As previously mentioned, the extent of what the Grizzlies have announced is that this is hamstring soreness for Rose. More information will likely become available later on.
