Saturday saw Week 0 of the college football season, but around the commonwealth of Kentucky, we saw the first high school football games of the season.
Arguably the top team in the state, Boyle County, picked up a 35-13 win over Lexington Christian yesterday.
One of the biggest games of the weekend was Frederick Douglass against Bowling Green, with both teams being generally regarded in the top 5 or 6 statewide. Douglass came out on top with a big 35-13 win to kick off their 2024 campaign.
Kentucky commit Javeon Campbell and his Western Hills squad picked up a big 46-0 win over Bourbon County to kick off the season.
Martels Carter Jr. and Paducah Tilghman picked up a 41-16 win over McCracken County.
But maybe the most interesting story out of high school football this weekend was the debut of the new Paris football field.
Moments from kickoff at Paris @PHS_FB_KY where the Greyhounds will face Frankfort on what folks here think is the only orange field in the nation. It’s new, it’s sharp. Updates to come.
