Nottingham Forest expected to make new offer in bring 17 years old Midfielder ‘coming days’ – Reds ‘continue negotiations’

Earlier today, we covered claims from Mexico which stated Nottingham Forest have made a €35m bid for Feyenoord’s Santiago Giménez. It was also reported the striker has been convinced to join the Reds, after holding talks with Nuno Espírito Santo.

AS also claim the Premier League side have indeed made an offer. They claim the fee is around €25m and not €35m as reported earlier.

Nottingham Forest’s bid has been turned down by the Dutch club, who want €40-45m to sanction his sale this summer. The report says the Eredivisie side’s request could be lowered as we get closer to deadline day.

Despite the refusal, the Premier League side ‘continue negotiations’ with Feyenoord. AS state that Nottingham Forest are expected to make a new offer in the ‘coming days’.

The English club’s plan is to increase their proposal for the 23-year-old. At the same time, they don’t seem to have a plan to meet the Dutch club’s request of at least €40m.

There’s no mention of Nottingham Forest’s threshold to sign Giménez. Feyenoord will have to make a decision if and when Nuno Espírito Santo’s side return with an improved offer.
