Nottingham Forest eyeing ‘fantastic’ £35m defender who Manchester United and Liverpool also want to sign

Nottingham Forest’s summer transfer window has delivered seven new signings now with the latest having been announced on Friday.

Nuno Espirito Santo has six of those seven signings available for the new campaign with Marko Stamenic already loaned out to Olympiacos.

It is unlikely Forest fans will get to see their latest signing in action in their season opener with Ramon Sosa not announced until Friday evening.

Sosa did also rebel against Talleres training over recent weeks to try and force through a move to the City Ground which may mean his fitness is not where Nuno will require it to be.

There is still room for Forest to add to their squad before the deadline at the end of the month.

And there is now a player from Ligue 1 who Forest are looking to compete with some huge clubs for over the coming weeks.

Nottingham Forest ready to battle Manchester United for defender

There are still a number of positions which Forest could do with adding to over the last couple of weeks.

A new striker is certainly one of those with Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah believed to be one of the potential targets on their radar.

However, a new left-back is also on the agenda with L’Equipe now claiming Forest are eyeing another option from Ligue 1.

It has now been reported Forest have identified the Rennes left-back Adrien Truffert as an option before the deadline at the end of the month.

But they are not alone in their interest in the ‘fantastic‘ 22-year-old defender with Paris Saint-Germain appreciating the player a lot.

And there is also interest coming from the Premier League with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Wolves credited in the report.
