Nottingham Forest are keen to sign a goalkeeper this summer with a number of names thrown into the mix as possible targets.
One of the names linked with Forest is Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale – although that feels like a long shot.
It’s perhaps surprising that Forest want to land another custodian having already signed Carlos Miguel during the off-season.
Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner is subject to interest from the Bundesliga and perhaps another goalkeeper is being eyed as cover.
Now, one of the names linked with a move to Forest has perhaps been shoved closer to the exit door earlier today.
Forest-linked Sam Johnstone handed Crystal Palace blow
Oliver Glasner was linked with a move to Forest after Steve Cooper was sacked but the club opted for Nuno Espirito Santo instead.
Now, he’s making waves at Palace and he’s now changed his number-one goalkeeper
Last season, Johnstone began the campaign in possession of the gloves, with Dean Henderson fighting back from a thigh problem.
However, some poor form prompted Glasner to rotate his goalkeepers and now he’s handed the former Forest loanee the number one shirt for the new season, the Daily Mail has confirmed.
Johnstone is 31-years-old and he’s likely to cost Forest in the region of £10 million if the club wishes to sign him from Palace.
Other clubs are keen though with Southampton and Wolves also linked, according to David Ornstein who delivered an update last week.
