VICTOR GYOKERES SET TO JOIN BOURNEMOUTH IN £25M DEAL
Cherries Secure Swedish Striker in Club-Record Transfer
Bournemouth, August 18 – AFC Bournemouth is on the verge of signing Swedish striker Victor Gyokeres from Sporting CP in a club-record £25 million transfer.
According to sources, Gyokeres has agreed to a five-year contract, with the Cherries meeting Sporting CP’s valuation. The 25-year-old will undergo a medical examination today, paving the way for his move to the Vitality Stadium.
Gyokeres impressed in the Primeira Liga last season, scoring 23 goals in 33 appearances. His clinical finishing and pace caught the attention of Bournemouth manager Gary O’Neil, who sees him as a key addition to his squad.
This transfer surpasses Bournemouth’s previous record signing, Jefferson Lerma, who joined from Levante in 2018 for £25.8 million.
Gyokeres’ arrival will bolster Bournemouth’s attacking options, providing competition for Dominic Solanke and Jaidon Anthony.
The signing is expected to be announced officially later today, pending a successful medical examination.
Bournemouth fans are ecstatic about the impending arrival of Gyokeres, hoping his goal-scoring prowess will propel the team to success in the Premier League.
