Nottingham Forest could be about to submit bid for £29m attacker who’s just won the Copa America

Nottingham Forest are now eyeing a very highly-rated winger on the continent.

The East Midlanders have just completed their sixth signing of the summer in Jota Silva from Vitoria Guimaraes.

Though, they aren’t prepared to rest on their laurels as they continue to search the market for further reinforcements ahead of their third successive season in the Premier League.

With that said, it has just emerged that they’re now in the race to sign a £29m-rated wide player.

Nottingham Forest interested in Nicolas Gonzalez

According to Ole, Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Fiorentina wide player Nicolas Gonzalez this summer.

The 26-year-old is coming off the back of a marvellous season for the Italian outfit, netting 16 times whilst laying on five assists.

Gonzalez has also just won the Copa America with Argentina, appearing in every game bar one, so evidently he’s a player with great pedigree.

As such, Forest aren’t the only club interested as Brighton and Juventus also want to land his signature.

Offer expected for Nicolas Gonzalez soon

The report claims that a formal offer for Gonzalez is expected to arrive in the next few days, though, it doesn’t suggest who from.

Indeed, with Forest one of the leading suitors, it may well be them but Juve are thought to be ahead of the East Midlanders in the race.

If Nuno Espirito Santo’s side do manage to pull the deal off, it’d certainly be regarded as one of the biggest coups in the club’s recent history.
