SUNDERLAND TARGET JAY STANSFIELD COULD MOVE THIS SUMMER
Fulham striker Jay Stansfield, a long-term target for Sunderland, may be on the move this summer. After spending last season on loan at Birmingham City, Stansfield is now set to leave Fulham again, with a possible sale or loan deal on the cards.
Sunderland has been linked with Stansfield for over a year and could make a move for the 21-year-old, who scored 12 Championship goals for Birmingham City last season. Sporting director Kristjaan Speakman is keen to sign a striker this summer, and Stansfield’s availability could be an opportunity for Sunderland to strengthen their attack.
However, Fulham boss Marco Silva wants Stansfield to play a part in Fulham’s Premier League campaign next season, so Sunderland would need to make an attractive proposal to secure a deal. With Stansfield’s Championship experience and goal-scoring record, he could be a valuable addition to Sunderland’s squad.
Will Sunderland make a move for Jay Stansfield this summer? Only time will tell.
