Nottingham Forest are hoping to tie up a deal for Jota Silva in the coming days but their transfer business is not going to be finished just yet.
The winger is going to check in from Vitoria in Portugal and Forest have moved quickly to secure the £11 million deal.
Another player has now been linked with a move to the City Ground and it continues a familiar trend with the club’s transfer policy.
The Reds are still in need of a left-back, a striker and possibly another winger – although now the club have been linked with a midfielder.
Nottingham Forest want Ezequiel Fernandez
The Boca Juniors star is a wanted man this summer and previously Fernandez has been linked with a move to Arsenal.
Now, Alan Nixon – The Sun’s transfer guru – has claimed that Forest are one of the club’s interested in his services.
It’s claimed that the player has been scouted by Leicester but that the real competition comes from Saudi Arabia where clubs are keen to sign him.
Fernandez will likely cost around £18 million and he typically operates as a defensive midfielder.
The 22-year-old is currently playing for Boca Juniors and right now he’s performing for Argentina at the Olympics.
They face France in the quarter-finals as they bid to claim a gold medal this time around.
He could move after the tournament and now it’s believed that Forest will be one of the clubs who try to sign him.
Forest well-stocked in midfield ahead of Premier League opener
It would be somewhat strange to see Forest sign another midfielder with the ranks somewhat stacked.
Ryan Yates, Danilo, Nicolas Dominguez and Ibrahim Sangare are all naturals there, whilst Elliot Anderson plays there too.
In total, Fernandez has played 67 times for Boca Juniors and it does feel as though he might get a crack at Europe in the future.
Fernandez received some praise from Alexis Mac Allister when he was at Brighton.
