7 tennis players with most wins in 2024 ft. Carlos Alcaraz, Coco Gauff, Taylor Fritz

Players who dominated in 2023 stamped their authority on the tour yet again in 2024. Carlos Alcaraz’s undisputed reign as the leader of the next generation was challenged by Jannik Sinner, who went on a tear this season. Alexander Zverev, now a veteran of the tour, continued to taste success.

The women’s field has also found its leading cast over the last couple of seasons. Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, and Coco Gauff were the best players on the WTA Tour for the second consecutive season.

Thus, it is not surprising to see these players tally the most number of wins this year. On that note, here’s a look at seven tennis players who registered the highest number of wins in 2024:

Taylor Fritz’s career-best season saw him advancing to his maiden Major final at the US Open. He capped off the season with a trip to the summit clash of the ATP Finals. He lost to Jannik Sinner in straight sets on both occasions.

Fritz defended his title at the Delray Beach Open and won the Eastbourne International as well. He also made the last eight at the Australian Open and Wimbledon, along with a fourth-round showing at the French Open. He reached a couple of Masters 1000 semifinals as well. His multiple deep runs helped him post a 53-23 record this year.

While Coco Gauff fell shy of a Major triumph this year, she still enjoyed considerable success despite a rough patch over the summer. She finished the season on a high by winning the WTA Finals for the first time, and won the China Open, a WTA 1000 event, prior to that.

Gauff reached the semifinals of the Australian Open, the French Open, and at the WTA 1000 tournaments in Wuhan, Rome, and Indian Wells. She defended her title in Auckland at the start of the season as well. These results laid the groundwork for her to tally a 54-16 record this year, making it her best season in terms of match wins.

Winning the French Open and Wimbledon back-to-back was the highlight of Carlos Alcaraz’s year. He defended his Indian Wells title as well and won the China Open for the first time. He made the last eight at the Australian Open and at the Masters 1000 tournaments in Miami, Madrid, and Shanghai.

Alcaraz eventually concluded the season with a 54-13 record. While it is a rather solid showing from the young Spaniard, he has tallied the lowest number of wins in a year since 2021. He registered a 65-12 record in 2023, and a 57-13 record in 2022.

A career year for Aryna Sabalenka saw her first defend her Australian Open crown, and then add to her Major trophy haul with her US Open victory. She won the Cincinnati Open and the Wuhan Open and finished as the runner-up at the Madrid Open and the Italian Open.

Sabalenka also advanced to the semifinals of the WTA Finals to finish the season with a 56-14 record. She had a 55-14 record last year and managed to better it by a whisker this season. She also managed to secure the year-end No. 1 ranking for the first time in her career to make it a year to remember.
