£20m Premier League Player Claims West Ham Are Going To Collapse This Season

Despite their strong start to the season, David Moyes’ West Ham United side have been dealt some cruel luck with injuries.

Both Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta will be missed for a considerable period, joining the likes of Michail Antonio in the treatment room.

And when you consider that Mohammed Kudus has also now left for AFCON, things aren’t looking too rosy.

West Ham do seem to have some potential transfers in the pipeline, but fans may still not be feeling too optimistic all in all.

That being said, Callum Wilson has now provided a pretty bleak prediction on which way West Ham’s season is about to go.

Speaking with Michail Antonio on the ‘Footballer’s Football Podcast’ Wilson thought West Ham would soon slip down the league.

Callum Wilson thinks West Ham will fall down the table after strong start

Not holding back, Wilson said: “I still stand what I’m going to say. You will be sliding down that league by the back end of the season.

“It is what it is, you have won a couple of games, we have lost a couple, you might have jumped over us but it’s like anything you have taken a few steps forward and you are going to take five or six back again, whereas us we are still in a good position considering the amount of injuries we have had this season.

“I’m not making an excuse, what I’m saying is we have not given ourselves mountains to do with us having such a hectic schedule and having setbacks within that.”

And whilst Wilson seems pretty pessimistic regarding West Ham’s coming months, some fans may have more trust in their extended squad.

David Moyes won’t panic

Under Moyes’ stewardship, West Ham won’t start to panic just yet.

The club coped admirably when they lost Declan Rice in the summer and they’ll surely be hoping to make the most of this window, too.

Any side would feel the absence of Bowen, Paqueta and Kudus – they’re world-class players.

But with Bowen’s injury now not as bad as first feared, fans will hope their squad can cope even without the boost of new faces.

If there was ever a time for Danny Ings to step up, then it is now.

Had Ings had the desired start to life at West Ham this season, £20m Wilson probably wouldn’t have been as damning with his comments.

But with Ings struggling to contribute so far, now would be a good point to turn things around.
