Everton are once again showing interest in a player who previously they had entered into advanced talks with.
This has been a summer of revolution for Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell, who at last has been given free rein to improve the squad as he sees fit.
Already, this is a more well-rounded outfit, but there remain a few glaring weaknesses that he will want to plug despite likely having seen the bulk of his funds taken up by prior acquisitions.
Fortunately, this target in question could well cost them nothing to sign, and provide them with everything they are lacking.
Latest Everton update on Kalvin Phillips interest
The Toffees’ transfer plans are far-reaching and seemingly unrelenting, with Sky Sports the latest to provide an update on one target of theirs.
Everton have wanted Kalvin Phillips for some time now, and the transfer centre has not only sought to provide an update on the club’s stance, but also the player’s, as it reads: ‘Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips is of interest to several Premier League clubs this summer.
The midfielder, who spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham, also been interest from abroad.
Contrary to reports elsewhere, Sky Sports News understands Galatasaray are not currently on the list of options he has.
‘Sky Sports News reported earlier in the summer that Everton are one of the clubs looking at him.
‘Phillips is open-minded about his future and but there have been no firm developments yet.’
Everton entered advanced talks with Kalvin Phillips earlier this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano, but thus far there has been little more progress.
